I went to www.rv.org and spent the $139.00 to receive a list of ratings and a lot of information about rv's. I bought a new RV and still have the same one and still love it as much as the day I bought it. I bought a Seabreeze Lx 8341 made by National RV. Some of the features I thought were important was the Workhorse chassis with GM Vortec 8.1liter engine and Allison transmission. I also looked at cargo carrying capacity (how much junk I could haul), how much water I could carry and other liquids. I also thought dual pane windows were important.
Be sure it is going to be livable for you. I never wanted to use a public shower, I got in the shower stuck my arms up like I was washing my hair to make sure I had room in the shower to move around. I also made sure the bathroom sink was big enough to wash my face in. Some bathroom sinks are so tiny these days.
Another big thing to look at is can you access all areas of the motorhome with the slides in? I can use everything in the motorhome but some bottom cabinets in the bedroom, so I just make sure I put non essential items in those cabinets.
National RV is now out of business, but I made sure I attended rallies and I went to the factory and had all the bugs fixed. Most all of my issues were fixed for free, so I am happy to say that I have few issues these days.

How it all began
The year was 2003, I was 48, and I was dating a guy who was just a year older then me but was going to be retiring from state employment in a year. He kept asking me what I was going to do when I retired. My first response was I will never retire because I don't have any money. He persisted and I thought about it and said that I always loved to travel (I traveled for work overseas for seven years) but was tired of hotels so I would like to travel in a motorhome and see the USA. He liked that idea and we begin researching motorhomes, living in them and everything about them.

Greetings
This time I am really going to start posting on my blog. I would like to pass on to others what I have learned in my 9 years of RVing. Seven of those years I was on the road full time and in less then 2 years I will be back on the road, full time at 59.5 years old!
